About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the wood manufacturing sector with people who have the advanced technical skills and knowledge required to operate, without supervision, as trade-level saw doctors.
Graduates will be able to operate and maintain plant and equipment safely and efficiently and will be able to troubleshoot and make decisions to maintain productivity.

Minimum requirements
To be eligible for entry, trainees must be in employment and engaging with work related to the scope of the programme. The employer and trainee, in conjunction with WBL Division, must complete a training agreement. The trainee must meet the eligibility requirements for a New Zealand Apprenticeship documented by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
