About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the hairdressing industry with individuals who have obtained sufficient knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to perform salon and client services that contribute to the effective operation of the salon.
This qualification is suitable for learners with prior knowledge of salon support and client support services in a hairdressing salon, who wish to develop skills and knowledge towards becoming a hairstylist.
Graduates will be capable of operating at an intermediate level under broad guidance.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Successful completion of the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) (Level 3) or the EIT Certificate in Hairdressing Level 3. Applicants who have the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) and unit standards 2870 and 25792 (totalling 93 credits) may be considered.
