The New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Level 3) [Ref: 2411] or equivalent knowledge and skills, is a prerequisite for entry to programmes leading to this qualification.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the hairdressing industry with professional hairstylists who have the obtained the knowledge and practical skills to independently perform salon and client services that contribute to the effective operation of a commercial salon.

This qualification is intended for people with prior knowledge of hairstyling and colouring tasks and basic hair cutting techniques, who wish to develop skills and knowledge to become a professional hairstylist

Graduates will be recognised by industry as professional hairstylists, able to provide integrated fashion services, and capable of operating under broad guidance.
