Entry requirements

The general requirement for admission is that a student demonstrates a strong likelihood of successfully achieving the standards required for the tertiary award sought. Assessment of applicants is governed by the BTI General Academic Regulations (available www.btionline.ac.nz/btionline/), which includes criteria covering:
potential ability to achieve academically and professionally;
prior academic and professional experience and qualifications;
character qualities, including a call to service and an empathy with the aims and objectives of the Institute; oral and written communication skills;
applicants must demonstrate technical ability in the use of email, word processing and the internet;
involvement in relevant cultural, social, sporting and community activities; and
personal suitability for the intended vocation.

Specific entry requirement for the Postgraduate Diploma of Professional Practice, and Postgraduate Diploma of Professional Practice are found within the Programme Regulations.
All students will be interviewed in person or by Skype or similar. Existing programme selection criteria will be applied as well as assessment of applicants' technical facility in the use of email, word processing and the internet.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The programme seeks to develop dispositions, advanced level knowledge and skills to engage in research-informed professional practice which is understood as an expression of a call of the biblical narrative. Students will develop further the capacity to engage in scholarship that is informed by faith, inspired by hope and motivated by love, to undertake supervised independent research, to honour ethical principles central to human flourishing, and to contribute as leaders to the wider professional community.
