About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for individuals who have recently begun working in the pest operations industry or who wish to enter the pest operations industry.

It recognises the skills and knowledge of individuals who can carry out pest control operations safely, under limited supervision, and in different environments for the purposes of biosecurity, conservation, and public health and enjoyment.

The qualification includes strands that recognise the distinct skills and knowledge required to carry out pest operations in either rural or urban environments.

Minimum requirements

Open Entry if the delegated authority at the campus/site is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the programme. International applicants are required to have an IELTS score of 5 (general or academic) with no individual band lower than 5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules.
