What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with people who have business knowledge and skills that can be applied in a range of operational business contexts.
Graduates will be able to contribute to the achievement of business operational objectives, through the application of knowledge and skills, in an ethical and inclusive manner, in accordance with ngā kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi (the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi), and in a multi-cultural environment.
The qualification includes strands that allow graduates to apply knowledge and skills in a range of specialised business operational contexts. Some strands can lead to further credentialing by professional bodies.
Key Information for Students
Academic Entry Requirements Applicants must have: NCEA Level 2, plus a minimum of eight Level 2 credits in English, four in writing and four in reading, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or skills. Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years and do not hold the minimum entry requirements will be eligible to be enrolled where their previous educational, work or life experience indicates they have a reasonable likelihood of success. Domestic Language Entry Requirements If English or Maori is the not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements International applicants must have an IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent.
