Entry requirements

The academic entry requirement for the Master of Applied Management is one of the following: an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in the Business or Management field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system); or a Bachelor Honours or Postgraduate degree in the Business or Management field with 120 credits at Level 8; or a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system) and evidence of management experience at degree level, and assessment from the programme coordinator; Or at the Dean's discretion, where an applicant's situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above. [A Master of Applied Management applicant who does not meet the entry criteria above may be admitted to the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Management and, upon successful completion of four courses (with a minimum B average) from the Schedule to the Regulations, be admitted to the Master of Applied Management.] Applicants from countries in which English is not the primary spoken language must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Master of Applied Management is designed to apply an advanced and discursive body of knowledge to a graduate's applied management knowledge and skills within the aims of the postgraduate programmes. A student undertaking a Master of Applied Management is required to complete courses across a range of areas of professional competence as approved by the Programme Coordinator. This requirement ensures that graduates in the Master of Applied Management gain breadth and depth of professional competence in their postgraduate studies consistent with the philosophy of the programmes. Selection of courses will take into account individual level of competency, together with the attainment of all graduate attributes.
