What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for people who have a desire to work in the horticulture industry who want to develop their theoretical skills and knowledge in a range of horticulture growing systems and practices.
It recognises horticulture knowledge and transferable skills valued by the horticulture community which will facilitate improved performance in the workplace, entry to a horticulture career and other related career progression, including to higher levels of study.
The qualification is designed to be flexible enough to reflect regional and sector variations in demand for transferable skills and knowledge.
It is also suitable for small block owners or for mature learners who wish to gain knowledge of horticultural science for application in a range of general horticulture sectors.
Graduates will be able to work under limited supervision with responsibility for work outcomes
