What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for education practitioners who want to develop the literacy and numeracy skills of adult learners by embedding those skills into community, vocational or workplace programmes. It is a non-specialist introduction to embedding literacy and numeracy into adult and tertiary education and training.
Graduates of this qualification will have skills and knowledge related to the basics of embedded literacy and numeracy design, facilitation, assessment and evaluation.

Minimum requirements
The Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Level 5) is open to those who have met the specified entry requirements below. Students must: Be a tutor of adults, either as an employee in a tertiary education organisation or in a voluntary tutoring position Have a minimum of two adult learners for the duration of the programme Have an acceptable safety check including a New Zealand Police vet prior to any practical experience involving learners under 18 years of age. Meet English language requirements if applicable.
