What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for those who are or want to be a language educator.
It is intended as a base-level qualification for a language educator who is an operationally proficient user of the language taught.
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to design, facilitate and assess language teaching, as well as reflect on own practice.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
A candidate for admission to this programme of study shall: - have attained the age of 18 or over; and - have an English level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5) / TOEFL iBT 60 (with a writing score of 18) / PToE academic score of 50 / AIS Test of English Proficiency (TEP) 52/80 (with no band less than 12); and - have a total of 48 credits at NCEA Level 2 from four different subjects including a minimum of 8 credits in English (4 in reading, 4 in writing) or equivalent; and - have successfully completed a pre-interview task; and - be gauged suitable for teaching (from an interview); or - gain approval under Admission Regulation 3: Special Admission.
