What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is for ākonga/learners who are seeking to develop foundational skills and conceptual knowledge in a range of creative contexts.

Graduates of this qualifications will have developed a limited range of creative capabilities to allow them to contribute to community or commercial projects in preparation for further study.

Graduates will be able to operate across a range of creative contexts under broad guidance.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

All tuition conducted is in English. Applicants from New Zealand must be 16 years or older, and have minimum of NCEA Level 1 in English. International applicants must be 18 years of age or older. All tuition is conducted in English; and applicants must have achieved an IELTS General or Academic score of 5.5 or higher, with no band score lower than 5, or higher, or equivalent. In some circumstances, other evidence of English language proficiency as listed under Rule 18 of NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2013 may be acceptable; please contact the Hungry Creek Art and Craft School for details. Prospective students complete an interview prior to enrolment. In addition to a commitment to study, applicants must demonstrate their artistic, creative, or crafts potential by a portfolio which may include three-dimensional works, or photographs of work.
