Entry requirements

A good level of oral, written and inter-personal communications, survey measurement and software operation skills are required to complete this qualification and to do a hydrographic surveying job effectively.
- A minimum of NCEA Level 1 Mathematics and English, or equivalent.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the hydrographic surveying profession with people who are able to apply practical surveying, communications and mathematical skills for hydrographic surveying under the supervision of a hydrographer.

This is an entry level qualification designed for people commencing their career in the hydrographic surveying profession. They may be new to the profession, from school or another industry, or they may be working in the profession without a qualification.
