What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the plastics processing industry with people who have the skills and knowledge to operate plastics processing machinery competently and safely. It is intended to be attainable in a variety of plastics processing contexts.
Learners will benefit by having a qualification within a training pathway that recognises progression through the plastics processing industry, as well as increased skills and knowledge acquisition to improve job performance and career opportunities.
This qualification is designed for people already working in the industry or people wishing to complete a pre-trade qualification before entering the industry.
Graduates will be able to work as competent operators, under limited supervision, in plastics processing operations.
The optional strand in plastics engineering recognises the knowledge and skills required to work in installation, maintenance, and servicing of plastics processing machinery and equipment.
