What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the marine industry with people who have the knowledge and skills to work in a team, unsupervised, to refit or construct new vessels.
This is an entry level qualification for people intending to enter or who are already working in the boat building sector, in the refit and construction of vessels.
Graduates will have the specialised knowledge and skills for refit and construct vessels in either alloy, composites, steel, or wood, dependent upon which strand is achieved.
