.Prerequisite:
- New Zealand Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4) with strands in Road Transport, Plant and Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, and Materials Handling [Ref: 3118] is a prerequisite to enrolment in this qualification, or equivalent skills and experience.
- a Class 4 licence for the Road Transport strand
- W, T, R endorsements for Plant and Equipment strand
- F endorsement for Materials Handling strand

This qualification provides the heavy automotive engineering industry with individuals who have attained the knowledge and skills to carry out advanced diagnostics and repair work.

This qualification is at aimed at people working, or wishing to work, in an advanced technical role within a heavy automotive context.

Graduates may have some responsibility for representing the business and for the overall performance of the workshop.
