What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Graduate Diploma in Applied Management is a qualification designed to enhance prior studies and experience, to achieve a complementary qualification in applied management with a specialisation in one of the following: Project Management; Business Management; Human Resource Management; Marketing; Accounting; Finance; or Manufacturing Management. This qualification has been developed to meet market demand from graduates who wish to take advantage of the applied nature of programmes at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology. Graduates are typically from the business, management or manufacturing industry, have a strong theoretical base and wish to gain relevant experience through applied projects, skills and knowledge of required to successfully work in and manage a sustainable business operation in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Graduates will have highly marketable skills and be industry-ready to leverage global opportunities in the applied management sector or add value as independent practitioners whether public or private, both locally and globally.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

An undergraduate degree, or 2-year Level 7 or above diploma in a related discipline or equivalent, or minimum 3 years equivalent relevant experience, or equivalent relevant practical and/or professional experience must be evidenced through the submission of a curriculum vitae detailing relevant work experience and professional achievements. For international applicants who come from non-English speaking backgrounds, an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or an equivalent relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF-related rules (Rule 18). For domestic applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required.
