This qualification prepares individuals to operate as costumiers in the screen, live performance and events industries, and aims to enhance the creation and delivery of high quality screen and live performance events in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Graduates can apply specialised skills in the creation and management of costumes, and work collaboratively within a variety of performance-based contexts.

Graduates can contribute to the cultural, social and economic life of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applications are invited from candidates of all backgrounds, with or without prior experience in the performing arts. Students must be at least 18 years of age prior to the first day of their first year of study. Admission to those less than 18-year of age may be made under exceptional circumstances. In these circumstances approval for admission will be granted by the Toi Whakaari Academic Board. All applicants must submit a portfolio and take part in an interview process.
