What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is designed to provide the beauty sector with therapists who have the skills and knowledge to analyse, plan and provide a broad range of beauty services.
This qualification is intended for learners who have little or no prior learning or experience in beauty services.
The beauty sector will benefit by having beauty therapists with the skills and knowledge to competently provide a range of beauty services.
Graduates will be capable of working under broad guidance with a degree of self-management in a beauty therapy context.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
NCEA Level 2 or equivalent. All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. For international students wishing to enrol in the NZ Certificate in Beauty Therapy (L4), ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include the following: successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (subject to the conditions in EIT s Database for English Language Proficiency (DELP)) completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 3 with any endorsement) IELTS Academic score of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment accepted international equivalents to the above IELTS scores (see equivalency tables in the DELP) A candidate who is 20 years of age or more and does not meet the academic entry requirements may be granted entry to the programme on the basis of a portfolio of evidence of their ability to succeed on the programme and subject to an interview. In exceptional circumstances, an applicant under the age of 20 years who does not meet the academic entry requirements may be granted entry to the programme on the basis of a portfolio of evidence of their ability to succeed on the programme and subject to an interview.
