The New Zealand Certificate in Aquatics (Level 3) with strand in Swim and Water Safety Teacher [Ref: 3503] must be achieved for entry to this qualification.
It is strongly recommended that all individuals hold a current practising first aid certificate at the point they are awarded the qualification

This qualification provides the aquatics sector with specialised swim and water safety teachers who have advanced industry knowledge and experience teaching swimming techniques to at least two specialised groups.
This qualification is intended for candidates who wish to work as specialised swim and water safety teachers or instructors. The strands of the qualification recognise the knowledge and practical skills for the candidate's two chosen areas of specialisation.
