Admission and Entry
General Academic Admission
* Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in Computing or Information Technology or a related subject area, with a grade average at level 7 of B or better in the final year of full-time study, or equivalent part-time study; or
* A Postgraduate Certificate in Computing or Information technology or a related subject area; or
* An equivalent qualification as considered by the Centre's Postgraduate Programme Committee.
Special Admission
* Domestic applicants aged 20 years or above who have not met the General Admission or entry requirements for a programme, but whose skills, education or work experience indicate that they have a reasonable chance of success may be eligible for Special Admission. Special admission will be granted at the discretion of the relevant Head of School/Centre Director or designated nominee. Such applicants may be required to successfully complete a foundation, bridging or tertiary introductory programme as a condition of entry into higher level programmes.
English Language Requirements
* Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.5 in the academic band, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; or equivalent.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The general aim of the proposed postgraduate programmes is to enable IT practitioners and recent IT graduates to gain internationally recognised skills and knowledge in applied information technology. They will be able to use their enhanced knowledge, skills and capabilities to obtain employment in positions of responsibility that relate to the electives they choose, thus helping to meet the strong demand from government, industry and the wider community for ICT expertise. Some may choose to undertake further studies.
The specific aim of the Postgraduate Diploma is to enable students to undertake an advanced programme of study in order to augment their information technology knowledge and skills, prepare them for research, and to help them obtain employment and/or to advance their careers.
