Pacific language may not include English and te reo Māori.
Pacific language may include the languages of Samoa, Tonga, Niue, Cook Islands, Fiji and Tokelau.

This qualification is intended for learners of a Pacific language as an additional language, who wish to increase their proficiency for general communication.
Graduates will have the general language skills required to communicate in most familiar situations with increasing independence and fluency.
