Entry requirements

The academic entry requirement for the Master of Digital Business (180) is one of the following: * an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in the Computing, Information Technology Business or Management field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system); or * a Bachelor Honours or Postgraduate degree in the Computing, Information Technology Business or Management field with 120 credits at Level 8; or * a degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system) and evidence of relevant experience in the Computing, Information Technology, Business or Management field at degree level, and assessment from the programme coordinator; or * at the Dean's discretion, where an applicant's situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above. [A Master of Digital Business applicant who does not meet the entry criteria above may be admitted to the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Business and, upon successful completion of four courses (with a minimum B average) from the schedule of courses may be admitted to the Master of Digital Business.] All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. For international students, ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include the following: * successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (subject to the conditions in EIT's Database for English Language Proficiency (DELP)) * completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 5 with any endorsement) * IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with no band score lower than 6, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment * accepted international equivalents to the above IELTS scores, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment (see equivalency tables in the DELP). An international student must be in possession of an appropriate visa for the duration of their Programme.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Master of Digital Business (180) is a Level 9 programme of 180 credits at levels 8 and 9 with at least 45 credits at level 9, completed by coursework, or a combination of coursework and either a project or research. It enables students who have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computing, Information Technology, Business, or similar, to achieve a postgraduate level qualification in the digital business area. The Master of Digital Business (180) is designed to apply an advanced and discursive body of knowledge to a graduate's existing digital business knowledge and skills within the aims of the postgraduate programmes. A student undertaking a Master of Digital Business (180) could come from a business, computing or IT background The students will choose from a selection of courses that take into account individual level of competency and prior knowledge together with the attainment of all graduate attributes.
