Entry requirements
To be eligible for admission to this micro-credential:
All applicants must have general IT technical knowledge, as demonstrated by the equivalent of at least 14 credits at Level 2 in ICT-related subjects or equivalent skills or knowledge or demonstrated capability through work experience; or equivalent.
English Language Requirements:
All applicants must provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required. The minimum standard of English for this Scheme is demonstrated by a minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or equivalent.
International applicants must also provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the micro-credential as demonstrated through the use of evidence of one of the kinds described in NZQA Rules and on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students Web-page.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential will introduce learners to IT foundations and AWS Cloud Fundamentals. Through real-world, scenario-based exercises, labs, and coursework, learners will build skills with Linux, Python, Networking, Security, and Databases. Learners will develop professional skills, including effective communication and collaboration to prepare them for industry-based projects. Successful participants will be able to sit an external exam in order to obtain a Cloud Practitioner Certificate issued by AWS, may secure an entry-level job placement in an IT company, or APL experience towards other qualifications in IT.
