Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or a recognised equivalent at Level 7 or higher on the NZQF, in an area that is relevant to secondary teaching.All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which this may be demonstrated, besides by New Zealand University Entrance, are detailed in the current Teaching Council Initial Teacher Education Requirements.Applicants must meet the Teaching Council's 'character and fitness' criteria and the requirements of the Children's Act 2014. Entry into the programme is subject to a selection process which includes Police vetting, confidential referee reports, personal declarations, an interview and a literacy and numeracy assessment.
