Entry requirements
Academic Entry Requirements: There are no compulsory academic entry requirements, however it is recommended that learners enrolling for this programme hold the New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) (Level 3) [Ref; 2592], appropriate assessment standards in Digital Technologies Level 2, or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
English Language Entry Requirements: Students whose first language is not English must provide evidence of competency in English language equivalent to IELTS General or Academic score of 5.5, or equivalent. There are no mandatory prerequisites for entry to this qualification.
(This micro-credential is not available to international students intending to study onshore in New Zealand.)
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The micro-credential aims to provide students the opportunity to develop and apply best practice within an introductory information technology context. They will gain the required knowledge and skills to setup, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure a client and server operating system.
The target learner market will be both domestic and international [online offshore] students. These will be people, such as school leavers and career changers, who are upskilling to support digital proficiency and capability to benefit their local iwi and wider communities or to become study-ready graduates who are able to pathway into further studies.
