Entry requirements
- NCEA University entrance or International equivalent CIE/IB grades (preferably information technology subjects) - Have successfully completed a Media Design School Qualification, Level 4 or higher - Have successfully completed a qualification from another discipline, Level 4 or higher - Discretionary entry may be given where the applicant can provide evidence of information technology engagement in industry including if you are over 20 years of age. An interview maybe scheduled with the Programme Coordinator. International - International - For students who have English as a second language, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required with no individual band score lower than 5.5 - OR - Acceptable alternative evidence of the required IELTS e.g., Pearson etc.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Bachelor of Information Technology is to provide graduates with well-developed theoretical knowledge and technical skills across Information Technology domains. These domains include a strong thread of cybersecurity alongside artificial intelligence, data science and software engineering. Graduates will be equipped to work in a wide range of technical roles such as Solution Architects, IT Support Analysts, Help Desk Analyst, and related technical roles, particularly as Security, Systems or Information Technology Support Analysts. Graduates will possess a strong technical base and will have the potential to progress in the workplace to more senior roles. Graduates will also be able to progress onto postgraduate study in Information Technology including cybersecurity, computer systems engineering, or artificial intelligence depending on their chosen pathway and/or experience. The target student body of school-leavers, mature learners, internal pathway students, and international applicants will benefit from this uniquely threaded technical programme and on completion will be well prepared for graduate information technology jobs in Aotearoa and globally.
