About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of the micro-credential is to improve the level of understanding of the computers (optimisers) so the operators can be more efficient and productive mechanised harvest operators.

The aim of this micro-credential is to provide the forestry sector with a simulation programme that improves the skills, knowledge and understanding required of computerized machine operators in a commercial forest. The simulator training will allow the ākonga to focus on the operation and understanding of the computerized optimiser without the pressure of production. The optimizer is the key component to safe efficient and productive use of the harvester head in the field.

The target learners for this micro-credential are those currently working in the forestry industry who are needing to upskill in order to best utilise the technology available in the sector; and those looking at entering the industry.
