What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential is for people who are working in Iwi/Māori social services or those who are working in the mainstream social services or related sectors looking to develop their practice and quality of service provision in terms of safeguarding and upholding the mauri, mana and tapu of whānau they support.
The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide learners with knowledge and competencies in planning, facilitating, implementing and evaluating various social services initiatives and interventions designed to promote the welfare and wellbeing of whānau including the important role cultural competence plays in these situations.
Those who achieve this micro-credential will be able to apply knowledge of kaitiakitanga in the context of protecting and advancing the wellbeing of whānau in an Iwi/Māori Social Services setting.
