Entry requirements
Learners/ākonga are required to be working in a relevant extractive industry role with an employer
who has workplace and onsite training and/or assessment agreement to deliver this micro-credential. For learners/ākonga safety, health, and well-being, and to ensure a valuable experience during the delivery of this micro-credential a workplace training agreement or equivalent must be agreed between the learner/ākonga, the provider, and the employer. Language proficiency · Learners/ākonga require sufficient literacy for reading workplace documents and completing assessments. · Providers will support ākonga/learners during delivery to ensure they have the level of language proficiency or literacy required.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide the extractives industry in New Zealand with a recognised training programme that provides knowledge of teams and team leadership, and worker health in the extractives industry.
This micro-credential is for extractive industry employees, particularly those wishing to be appointed to a safety-critical role under the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016. All learners must be in employment in the extractives industry.
