Entry requirements
Participants are expected to have had several weeks prior experience in a business that is involved in testing machines for function. It is suitable for milking machine dealer staff, sales reps, OEMs, local agents, fitters and testers, vets and advisors. No prior qualifications are required. Participants will be expected to be able to read service manuals and perform basic calculations. The course is delivered in English, a translator can be made available. Some light lifting and working around machinery is required.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of the micro-credential is to provide a structured, recognised and quality assured certificate for existing and new milking machine technicians.
Learners will gain the fundamental skills and knowledge to perform milking machine testing and reporting to meet ISO standards, on a variety of machines available.
This micro-credential will support technicians in their certification and registration as New Zealand Milking and Pumping Trade Association (NZMPTA) Milking Machine Testers and Dairy Diagnostic Specialists (acts as pre-requisite for certification).
