Entry requirements
Eligible students will have achieved all of unit standards in the Micro-Credential titled, Certificate in Intermediate English: Daily Life or equivalent;
OR
Will demonstrate competency in the graduate outcomes of the Micro-Credential titled, Certificate in Intermediate English: Daily Life. This will be checked via a placement assessment prior to entry on the course. To be eligible, students must also be able to meet the attendance and study requirements of the course.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this micro-credential, Certificate in Intermediate English: Work and Community, is to enhance communication skills for broader societal and workplace engagement. It focuses on practical language applications that support everyday interactions in community and workplace settings.
The intended learner group includes former refugees and migrants who are ready to grow their participation in New Zealand society and the workforce. It is tailored for individuals who can communicate with some independence in familiar contexts and are looking to extend their language skills for professional environments and community engagement.
It's designed to support independence and successful settlement outcomes such as undertaking further study at level 3 or working in positions that require simple interpersonal communication, understanding of spoken instructions and simple connected texts, and completing emails and workplace forms.
