To enter this micro-credential, tauira must be:
* 16 years or older
* A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau)
* A New Zealand resident currently living in New Zealand
* An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident, currently residing in New Zealand
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of the Work Readiness Building and Construction Micro-Credential (Level 2) is to provide pre-trades/entry level tertiary vocational training to tauira seeking pathways into the building and construction trades in Aotearoa New Zealand. The target group are those who are not currently in employment or training and need to develop their social, cultural and academic skills in a learning environment which is supportive and nurturing through experiential learning. Through tikanga-based learning tauira will develop relationships, express their cultural identity, self-confidence, and knowledge of relevant tikanga and protocols. Through project-based and simulated learning and experience, tauira will develop basic construction related skills and knowledge under supervision to enter employment or pursue further study and/or training at higher levels.
