About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Following the Electrical Workers Registration Board's removal of the endorsed Line Mechanic qualification in September 2024, a gap has emerged in how electrical workers demonstrate competency in critical tasks such as Point of Entry (PoE) work and main meter board installations. While competency expectations remain, there is now no formalised training pathway to meet them, placing the burden on contractors and networks to independently verify skills.
The purpose of this micro-credential is to fill the current training gap, support industry with a credible competency framework, and ensure that workers performing these essential tasks are trained to consistent, nationally recognised standards.
