This micro-credential will be 'open entry.'
Learners must have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills to:
* interpret and apply health and safety requirements
* understand 'instructions for use' associated with barbering equipment
* navigate the course workbook at level 3.
This micro-credential is suitable for people who wish to explore their potential for working in the barbering/hairdressing industry with a view to enrolling in further study at a later date.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential builds on a foundational interest in barbering by introducing ākonga to the historical development of the barbering trade and the evolution of barbering fashion, providing valuable context for current industry practices. Delivered within a correctional facility, it supports ākonga in deepening their engagement with the industry while developing knowledge of common conditions of the hair and scalp.
