What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have advanced knowledge and understanding of current research in policy and governance. They will have the skills necessary to understand theoretical and practical problems in policy analysis and the challenges of governance in sub-national, national, not for profit, third sector and international contexts. They will have carried out a substantial piece of independent research so will have expertise in the formulation of research questions, data collection and analysis, case study analysis and hypothesis testing. They will be excellent communicators, having been trained to produce cogent and well-structured research reports, having experienced direct interaction with senior professional mentors, field work in Wellington and the regions and through problem-solving in the core course work and teaching.
