What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates of the PGCertCBT will be able to: (a) Demonstrate an appreciation of how colonisation and racism has contributed to poorer (mental) health outcomes in Maori. (b) Demonstrate an appreciation of how Maori models of wellbeing overlap and differ from western models of health (c) Be aware of how to ethically set up a treatment frame to work with clients with mental health difficulties and how to adapt this for Maori in respect of contact and interviewing (d) Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of how CBT theory accounts for the development and maintenance of common mild to moderate mental health presentations and substance misuse issues.
