Entry requirements

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting related studies or equivalent studies. Applicants must liaise with the Programme Coordinator before enrolment, to discuss specific requirements that have to be met before they are eligible for enrolment in this Graduate Diploma. Applicants from countries in which English is not the primary spoken language must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include i. completion of a programme of study in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply*), and ii. approved scores on IELTS tests, namely an Academic score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5 achieved in a single test within the preceding year (or accepted international equivalents). *See NZQA English language entry requirements for international students in EIT's Database of English Language Proficiency (DELP). Computer literacy is highly recommended in order to be able to cope with the online components of the courses. Students who do not meet the criteria above, but present evidence of significant work and professional experience at degree level or above, may be admitted to the programme. These applicants will be required to participate in an interview. The Dean may apply discretion to these regulations in exceptional circumstances.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting (GradDipPA) aims to enable students whose undergraduate degree does not cover the compulsory courses for ACA or CA academic preparation to incorporate these in a one-year Diploma programme and satisfy the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia's academic requirements.
