What can I expect out of this qualification?
Persons with this diploma will have acquired current knowledge in dental, applied biomaterials science and advanced dental technology skills. They will be committed to the highest academic and technical standards, and to lifelong learning and continuing professional development. Students will be able to critically evaluate scientific methodology and be able to provide advanced prosthetic technical support to specialist dentists such as prosthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The programme ensures that candidates will be able to apply their course work to the New Zealand Dental Technicians Board and Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (2003) accreditation / continuing professional development requirements.
