About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Bachelor of Education Studies (BEdSt) is a three-year degree, which together with the Graduate Diploma in Education and Teaching (GradDipEdTchg) constitutes a four-year teaching programme. Students will focus on an area of specialisation in their third year of study, undertaking an internship to extend their academic and professional focus on subject and pedagogical content knowledge, understanding and skills, and to prepare them for leadership roles within teaching. BEdSt/GradDipEdTchg graduates will be eligible to apply for provisional teacher registration and entry into either early childhood or primary school level teaching at Q3+ salary status. As the first two years of the BEdSt parallel the three-year Bachelor of Teaching (BTchg) degree, a student may elect to transfer to the BTchg at the end of their second year, and exit upon completion of a third year with a teaching qualification.
