The qualification is designed to prepare students for beginning practice as contemporary ambulance paramedics in Aotearoa New Zealand. The qualification furthers learning in the areas of research, sociological, legal and ethical subjects, pharmacology, bioscience and professional practice for new and existing employees of the ambulance sector.

Whitireia degree entry requirements: http://www.whitireia.ac.nz or equivalent academic/work experience AND full NZ Driver Licence; evidence of suitability based on an entry age of 18 years, police vetting, medical report, referee reports, interview (International: IELTS 6.5).
