The applicants must have completed at least three years at secondary school and achieved National Certificate of Educational Achievement (Level 1) or equivalent or have completed two years work experience in a related industry. They must be 18 years or over.

A graduate holding the Telford Certificate in Stock and Station (Level 4) will have the knowledge and skills to enter a rural servicing retail outlet or business in the stock and station and agriculture industry. They will have an introductory knowledge of livestock handling; livestock knowledge; rural servicing industry knowledge; livestock classification and sales; soils, fertilizers, agrichemicals, effluent; pastures and crops; software used in agriculture; on-line sales; records of inventory; sales and retail industry.
