A bachelor's degree with a major in education, psychology or a related discipline, or an approved teacher education degree, or a bachelor's degree and teaching diploma from an approved teacher education institute.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates will have advanced knowledge of educational theory and research which they will apply to professional contexts in education or related fields. They will have the skills to critically evaluate educational literature and empirical research and to gather, analyse and use evidence to understand, inform and enhance professional practice. They will understand key challenges facing education and related fields and draw on literature and evidence to engage with identifying and implementing solutions to those challenges. They will be able to undertake individual research and apply their research skills to new situations. Graduates will be well prepared to take on senior and leadership roles within their professional contexts. Some graduates will be eligible to progress to doctoral study. This 180-point version of the MEd replaces the 120 point MEd (VI0043), phased out from 2015.
