About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The Bachelor of Nursing (BNurs) programme prepares nurses to deliver person-centred care that aligns with the diverse health needs of the Aotearoa population, incorporating a strong focus on the child and family, mental health and addiction across the lifespan, as well as mental health across acute, primary and rural care settings. Graduates of the University of Waikato BNurs degree will be able to: work effectively in a range of clinical settings across the continuum of care and the lifespan; utilise their nursing knowledge and evidenced-based research skills alongside complex nursing judgement to holistically assess needs that impact on physical and mental health; and provide culturally responsive care and support to people to manage their health and wellbeing. They will enter the workforce with skills and capabilities in leadership, research and education and will be able to integrate psychological processes and understanding into all patient care.
