Applicants must be at least 18 years old and should exhibit a clear interest in performance, provide examples of original work showing conceptualisation of ideas and developmental images, have good visual communication skills, an ability to engage in a dialogue about the ideas in their work, which they present at interview, evidence of at least one independent self-initiated project relating to design or performance, an ability to engage in a collaborative process, motivation to participate in the programme, awareness of performance cultures, leadership potential.
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will have the knowledge and skills necessary to gain employment and/or initiate projects in the professional design areas of theatre and film. The programme encourages innovation, self-motivation and individual diversity through the practical application and understanding of materials and construction methods, visual communication methods, performance technologies, computer-aided design, and through engagement in performance studies. Through a sequence of major projects, students will develop leadership skills achieved through a structured process of independent thinking and analysis to develop the ability to self-critique, and to function as part of a multi-discipline performing arts team.
